EUCAS 2021

The biannual European conference of applied superconductivity (EUCAS) will unfortunately not take place in Moscow, but will be held as a virtual conference this year. From September 5th to September 9th, current topics from the fields of materials, electronics and large scale applications will be discussed. THEVA participates with a virtual exhibition booth and will present recent developments and news within 3 talks in the "Materials" and "Large scale" sessions. Transmit Kilowatts contactlessly with superconducting coils

A team at the Technical University of Munich and Würth Elektronik designed a coil with superconducting wires from THEVA to transmit power of more than 5 kW contactless. The wide range of conceivable applications includes autonomous industrial robots, medical equipment, vehicles and even aircraft. SuperLink cable project started

It's official: THEVA will be part of a 5-headed consortium to develop and prepare a 12 km long superconducting cable in the city of Munich. Within the 2-year timeframe of the project called "SuperLink", all cable components will be tested (superconductor, cable and cooling). Consequently, a 12 km long superconducting high voltage cable will be realized. Further information may be found in our press release

ISS 2020 Conference

The 33rd International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS 2020) will be held from December 1st to 3rd in Tsukuba, Japan. Due to the current situation, the conference will be held both on-site and virtual. Therefore, we are happy to announce that THEVA's Markus Bauer will give a presentation about "Recent progress of REBCO coated conductors at THEVA". Virtual ASC 2020

Due to the ongoing worldwide situation, the organization commitee of ASC conference decided to go virtual. Presentations and discussions will be streamed in different timezones between Oktober 24th and November 7th. THEVA wants to support this by giving an oral presentation about recent developments in our coated conductors production within one of the materials sessions. THEVA reaches record performance in HTS tapes

Ismaning, 31st July, 2020: THEVA has succeeded in doubling the current carrying capacity of its Pro-Line superconductors. In test series on production lines, standard processes were used to produce tape conductors over more than 400 m long, which carry more than 1000 A transport current at 12 mm width and 75 μm thickness, which corresponds to a current density of 1100 A/mm². The record level was even 1350 A, i.e. 1500 A/mm², under standard measuring conditions in liquid nitrogen at 77 K (-196°C). You can find futher information in our press release.
