THEVA introduces Stock List

2020-06-15T14:08:21+02:00March 13th, 2020|

Beginning in February 2020, THEVA started offering a new service: We collect HTS tapes remaining from bigger orders in a special stock list. These superconductors are being measured, sorted and prepared for shipping. As a result, we can ship the tapes on short notice. This is especially interesting for educational and research institutions with limited time and budget. As we have a range of product types, piece lengths and qualities in this stock, we can provide superconductors for diverse applications. Use this opportunity and contact us. We are happy to check our stock list for suitable pieces for your application.

ZIEHL VII

2020-04-23T10:52:57+02:00February 20th, 2020|

The German industry association superconductivity (ivSupra) will host the 7th ZIEHL conference in Berlin from 5th to 6th March 2020. The conference focuses on future and innovation in energy technology enabled by high temperature superconductivity. Speakers from industry and politics present and discuss current superconductor activities and projects, including topics with THEVA participation: an induction heater (RoWaMag project), the superconducting wind power generator (EcoSwing project) as well as the superconducting high voltage cable planned for the city of Munich. The schedule and registration is available at https://ivsupra.de/ziehl/ (German). THEVA is founding member of ivSupra and supports the event as a sponsor.

FastGrid Newsletter #4

2019-11-22T13:00:55+01:00November 22nd, 2019|

EU Horizon 2020 project "FastGrid" has the goal to develop a superconductor for the use in a high voltage Fault-Current-Limiter. The current project status and reached milestones are communicated through newsletters. In the 4th newsletter the development of a new hot spot detection technique using optical fibers by EPFL is highlighted. This innovation is a significant game changer allowing a speedy and extremely simple detection of even a single hotspot in the tape within 10 ms. It can be used in a wide range of superconducting applications. The 4th FastGrid Newsletter can be downloaded here: https://www.fastgrid-h2020.eu/en/News-list-with-fastgrid-news-36,269.html

Looking back at EUCAS 2019 and MT26 conferences

2019-10-16T11:36:29+02:00October 16th, 2019|

From September 1st to 5th, the European Conference on Applied Superconductivity (EUCAS) took place in Glasgow. VP Business Development Dr. Markus Bauer and CEO Dr. Werner Prusseit each held a presentation. THEVA was also present with an exhibition booth. Two weeks later, 26th Magnet Technology Conference (MT 26) took place in Vancouver, Kanada. THEVA was represented by two presentations and a booth in die exhibition area. We would like to thank all visitors for our interesting discussions. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year

World-Record magnetic field reached with 2G HTS

2019-06-18T14:34:36+02:00June 18th, 2019|

The National Magnetic Lab at Florida State University is one of the leading institutes in magnet technology. Their latest achievement is the construction of a magnet reaching 45.5 T - 0.5 T more than the former world record. This was possible through the use of 2nd generation high temperature superconductor wire. THEVA to develop high-temperature superconductor for the Munich grid

2019-06-04T10:27:37+02:00June 4th, 2019|

Ismaning, June 3rd 2019 – A consortium of five partners, including THEVA, intends to build a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) transmission line in Munich. It will be the longest in the world by far. A declaration of intent has been signed, resulting in a development application to the German Federal Ministry of Economy. THEVA in Ismaning near Munich produces superconductors in series. As part of this project it will expand its product portfolio to include a conductor designed specifically for the cable application. HTS cables for electrical power distribution in cities are projected to be one of the most important and highest-revenue market segments for superconductors.   Further information can be found in our press release.
